People & Lifestyle

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Hinsdale has a vibrant downtown area with many great dining choices spread across several blocks close to the Hinsdale train station. Page’s Restaurant and Yia Yia’s Pancake House are popular and longstanding greasy spoons where you can tuck into tasty classic diner fare. Sweet Ali’s Gluten Free Bakery sells delicious sweet and savory baked goods such as bread, coffee cakes, cookies, muffins, pizza dough, and quiche. Everything in this inviting bakery is gluten-free, and there’s also a wide variety of dairy-free, vegan, and other allergen-free options.

The rustic-chic tavern Fuller House has been voted the best bar in Chicago’s western suburbs. This lively spot serves wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, certified Angus beef burgers, and other gourmet pub eats, plus an impressive selection of beers, whiskeys, wines, and cocktails. European-style Toni Patisserie & Café offers a range of pastries and flavorful small plates for breakfast and lunch and also prepares exquisite custom cakes (including my wedding cake!).

Many small shops adorn the streets of downtown Hinsdale offering a little bit of everything: children’s clothing boutique, My Sister Kate, womenswear store Alixandra Collections and Bluemercury beauty store are some local favorites.
